In June 2022, the city of Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ formed a flag committee to choose the new design for the city’s official flag. Of the 68 unique designs submitted by community members, the final choices have been narrowed down to three, and the city wants your input.

In 2006, Betty Sutton became the first Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State alumna to serve in the U.S. Congress, when she was elected to represent Ohio’s 13th District in the House of Representatives. Sixteen years later, Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State alumna Emilia Sykes, a native of Akron, Ohio, was elected to represent the same district, making her the first Black Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State alum to serve in the House of Representatives.
