The CCI Dean's Scholarship is a need-based scholarship open to admitted 妖姬直播 State undergraduates in:

• School of Communication Studies
• School of Emerging Media and Technology
• School of Media and Journalism
• School of Visual Communication Design

To be considered for the CCI Dean鈥檚 Scholarships, students must apply through ScholarshipUniverse and must have a completed FAFSA on file.

The 妖姬直播 State University Honors College awards several merit scholarships of varying amounts designated specifically for students in the School of Media and Journalism who apply for and are admitted to the Honors College.

SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA:

Graduate of a Portage County, Ohio, high school pursuing a BA or BFA in Design or a BFA in photography or fine art, in good academic standing (3.0 GPA or higher), with a portfolio of photography, design or sculpture work.  

Award Amount: $920

*Demonstrate financial need based on FAFSA form in Financial Aid. 

The School of Media and Journalism and the School of Visual Communication Design award up to $200,000 to photography students annually through the Wallace J. Hagedorn Photography Scholarship. In addition to the monies available to offset tuition costs for the most talented visual storytellers, this program-enhancing gift will also provide additional resources to enrich the student experience. The Alan Canfora Activism Scholarship celebrates the life of this noted May 4 activist, his 妖姬直播 State experience and the importance of social justice and advocacy to society. The scholarship will provide up to two years of renewable  support for an undergraduate, first-year or transfer student of any major on the 妖姬直播 campus who has demonstrated financial need, as well as an interest in social justice and advocacy and a commitment to care and compassion toward others.

The College of Communication and Information administers this scholarship, but it is open to any college major in the university including exploratory students.

To apply you must:

• Be an entering first-year or transfer student with demonstrated financial need
• Be a full-time student enrolled at the 妖姬直播 campus beginning in the fall semester
• Accept admission to 妖姬直播 State by no later than May 1
• Show a demonstrated interest in advocacy and social justice, as well as a demonstrated commitment of care and compassion toward others

Michael John Gallagher II had a passion for global communication 鈥� and his love for the discipline was central to who he was. Active within the 妖姬直播 community, he flourished as a leader, ambassador, mentor and humanitarian. Michael spread kindness wherever he went, with a smile, wave or small talk. He made everyone feel like a friend. Michael graduated, magna cum laude, May 2019.

After graduating, Michael joined the Peace Corps. He dedicated himself to teaching English to the French speaking children at CEG Yebessi in Benin, West Africa.

Just two days after Michael鈥檚 24th birthday, his life tragically came to an end. Michael鈥檚 short time on this earth left an indelible impression on so many people. The impact he made was felt around the world 鈥� in Chicago, Illinois; 妖姬直播, Ohio; Chengdu, China; Florence, Italy; Benin, West Africa; and Paris, France. 

His legacy lives on

This program from the Council of the Great City Schools was established to encourage minority students to pursue college degrees and careers in science, technology, engineering, and math.

This fund was established by a transfer of the Educational Trust of the Inner City Protestant Parish to the Cleveland Foundation to provide scholarship support to enable deserving individuals who are residents of Cleveland or its inner-ring suburbs to further and/or complete their formal education. Currently, the beneficiary pool is identified as high school seniors and adults to the age of 28, who are pursuing an undergraduate college degree, or vocational/technical training. Applicants with grade-point averages between 2.0 and 3.3 on a 4.0 grade scale are given preference.

iSchool Alumni & Friends Council Endowed Minority Scholarship
The Alumni & Friends Council scholarship is based on capacity to achieve academic and professional goals and potential for leadership on campus or in the community. Preference will be given to ethnic minority students (i.e., African American, Hispanic, Native American, and Asian American).

This is awarded to a graduating high school senior planning to attend an accredited four-year institution.

Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible if they are a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or DACA recipient. Students must be African American/Black, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino, or Native American/Alaska Native. Students must major in advertising, marketing, or public relations.

The National Press Club Diversity Scholarship for Studies in Journalism encourages further diversity in journalism and includes a one-time $500 book stipend.

Petta and Ron Khouw Scholarship
This scholarship goes to an underrepresented minority MLIS student with focus in Reference Librarians or Academic Librarians-Reference Services.

This $1,000 scholarship is available to students who are veterans and/or are from underrepresented groups in their first semester of the MLIS or MS program in the School of Information at 妖姬直播 State. In order to be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be admitted to the 妖姬直播 State University MLIS or MS program. Applications can be made at any time, but will not be reviewed until after admission. 

The Ariana R. Ulloa Scholarship Fund was established to honor the legacy of its namesake, Ariana Ulloa, a native of Mexico. Ariana moved to Athens in 1986 and began working for the Hocking College Department of International Programs in 1990, eventually moving into the position of Director. She had a reputation for her kind and encouraging nature and was known to many students as 鈥淢am谩 Ariana.鈥� The scholarships are offered to international students pursuing any field of study, as well as students pursuing a degree in international studies or international relations. Students must be residing or studying in the 32 counties of Appalachian Ohio, or in Franklin, Fairfield or Delaware counties.

Provides financial assistance to students who are residents in the Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development's service area and want to attend college but lack the required resources. Individual income must not exceed 200 percent of Federal Poverty Level.

FAO provides 16 scholarships in house to students who reside in Appalachian regions in Ohio. The scholarships have different requirements and are posted on their website. In memory of legendary West Virginia Senator Robert C. Byrd, the Turkish Coalition of America is honored to institute the TCAdvance - Robert C. Byrd Memorial Scholarship Program. The TCAdvance - Robert C. Byrd Memorial Scholarship is a subcategory of the TCAdvance Scholarship Program and will award $5,000, annually renewable scholarships to Turkish American students hailing from the 13 states of the Appalachian region.

The Association of Asian Indian Women in Ohio (AAIWO) attempts to reach out to primarily Asian Indian women, youth, and children in Ohio to promote education through scholarships and cultural outreach programs. InspirASIAN makes a difference in our community by supporting graduating high school seniors with their college education through our scholarship awards. These scholarships are offered to high school seniors nationwide for their post-secondary education.

Scholarships are provided to enrolled dual-degree pharmacy students. Additional consideration is given to students of low socioeconomic status and underrepresented minorities.

The Fontana Transport Inc. Scholars Program is open to underrepresented, low-income and first-generation college-bound students. Students must be pursuing an undergraduate degree full-time in transportation, math, science, engineering, architecture, environmental design, PreMed, psychology, Spanish language/literature. The applicant does not have to be a U.S. citizen but must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and proof of attending college beginning in the fall semester. Recommendation by a faculty member is optional but highly suggested.

Garmon-Murvay Scholarship
This is a scholarship for School of Communication Studies students with junior standing with 60 hours or higher completed and an overall gap of 3.0. Applicant will submit an essay with their application that responds to the following questions. 1. How being a student at KU has influenced him/her in his/her view of the world beyond 妖姬直播, Ohio. 2. The importance of communication studies as a discipline, especially when considering gender communication and cultural communication in a diverse and changing world. 3. Indicate if the student is a first-generation student to attend college.

The Community Foundation of Shelby County, OH has numerous scholarships for both graduating high school seniors and current college students. Specifically, the Layton Family Foundation Scholarship is designed to assist first generation college students who are from Shelby County, Ohio.

This scholarship is for high school seniors and students who will be attending a college or university in the United States as a freshman. Applicants who are currently not seniors in high school (e.g., students who are taking a gap year or adults returning to school), but applicants who will be considered incoming freshmen are eligible to apply. Special consideration will be noted for applicants: who have parents that are United States veterans or are currently in the U.S. military; with a demonstrated financial need; with parents who did not attend college; or, with a documented significant disability.

The Pittsburgh Foundation offers a variety of scholarships for students from the area. Several of them are specifically available for students who are the first in their family to attend college. Amounts vary and there is more information available on the website.

This scholarship started in an effort to give back to the adoption community and to show support to Birth Parents and Adoptees who are interested in pursuing higher education. You must be a Birth Parent or an Adopted Child and have been accepted to a university, vocational, technical or trade school. This is a video submission with a short application as well.

Through its academic scholarship program, Adoption STAR recognizes college bound individuals who were adopted by providing academic scholarships. Adoption STAR will award two to six academic scholarships ($500 鈥� $1,500) to college bound individuals.

Applicants must have been in public or private foster care for the 12 consecutive months leading up to and including their 18th birthday; OR have been adopted or placed into legal guardianship after their 16th  birthday; OR have been orphaned for at least one year at the time of their 18th birthday and not subsequently adopted, be under the age of 25 on March 31 of the year, have been in foster care or orphaned while living in the United States, an undergraduate, and have been accepted into or expect to be accepted into an accredited, Pell-eligible college or postsecondary school. The All-Star Scholarship is open to children adopted at or after the age of 13 to provide increased opportunities for advanced education. Each year, one student will be selected to receive the scholarship. This student will be eligible to receive up to $10,000 annually to go towards tuition, books, and other college-related expenses.

The Hispanic Engineer National Achievement Awards Corporation (HENAAC) distributes multiple scholarships each year; some require U.S. citizenship but many do not. Applicants should be entering a STEM field at the undergraduate or graduate level, have a 3.0 GPA, have strong ties to the Hispanic community, and show leadership at the community or campus level. Scholarship winners could receive $500-$10,000.

The Hispanic Scholarship Consortium seeks highly motivated student leaders with a clear vision for their future to apply for the HSC Scholars Program. The Traub-Dicker Rainbow Scholarship was established by Peggy Traub and Phyllis Dicker to encourage and support lesbian women in their pursuit of higher education. This program provides one-year scholarships of $1,500 or $3,000 to those graduating high school or already enrolled in college in any year of study, including graduate school. Scholarships are paid directly to the recipient鈥檚 school and are applied toward tuition. 

Merit-based scholarships of $2,500 will be awarded to: Persons on active duty in the uniformed military services. The American Legion鈥檚 Legacy Scholarship provides college scholarship money to biological or legally adopted children of post-9/11 veterans who died on active duty, or have a combined VA disability rating of 50 percent or greater.

AMVETS鈥� offers scholarships through our National Service Foundation (NSF) and donations. They are for Veteran (other than dishonorable), Active Duty, Guard, and Reserves; Spouses; and Children/Grandchildren of Veterans, Active Duty, Guard, and Reserves who are currently in high school. One of the Army Nurse Corps Association鈥檚 major initiatives is the Scholarship Program. Its purpose is to support nursing education through scholarship funding to worthy students who are US citizens in an accredited baccalaureate or graduate nursing or anesthesia program.

The Folded Flag Foundation mission is to provide educational scholarships and support grants to the spouses and children of the United States military and government personnel who died as a result of hostile action or in an accident related to U.S. combat operations. The Cherokee Nation College Resource Center offers several scholarships to tribal citizens who have permanent residence within the Cherokee Nation or contiguous areas.

The Chickasaw Nation provides grants and scholarships to Chickasaw citizens and full-time employees.

Both Merit-based and Need-based, the competitive Cobell Scholarship is annual, non-renewable, and available to any post-secondary (after high school) student who is; an enrolled member of a US Federally Recognized Tribe, enrolled in full-time study and is degree-seeking. iSchool Alumni & Friends Council Endowed Minority Scholarship
The Alumni & Friends Council scholarship is based on capacity to achieve academic and professional goals and potential for leadership on campus or in the community. Preference will be given to ethnic minority students (i.e., African American, Hispanic, Native American, and Asian American).

Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible if they are a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or DACA recipient. Students must be African American/Black, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino, or Native American/Alaska Native. Students must major in advertising, marketing, or public relations.

These series of scholarships from the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering offer help for engineering and computer students.

The Ohio Newspapers Foundation will award a scholarship to a minority high school senior in Ohio who plans to major in a field relevant to the newspaper industry, particularly journalism, advertising, marketing, or communications degree program at an Ohio college or university.

The Osage Nation Higher Education Scholarship is available to Osage students pursuing post-secondary education at the associate level or beyond. A wide range of educational choices is supported, including associates, bachelors, masters, and doctoral degree programs at accredited schools. Students must maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of a 2.0 and be in good standing to remain eligible for scholarship funding. Students may not receive the Career Training Scholarship and Higher Education Scholarship simultaneously.

Petta and Ron Khouw Scholarship
This scholarship goes to an underrepresented minority MLIS student with focus in Reference Librarians or Academic Librarians-Reference Services.

This $1,000 scholarship is available to students who are veterans and/or are from underrepresented groups in their first semester of the MLIS or MS program in the School of Information at 妖姬直播 State. In order to be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be admitted to the 妖姬直播 State University MLIS or MS program. The Society for American Archaeology scholarships are open to all Native peoples from anywhere in the Americas, Alaska Natives, Indigenous Pacific Islanders, and Native Hawaiians.

This scholarship, administered by the Osage Minerals Council, is intended to provide assistance to eligible Osage applicants in the petroleum-related field of study.

This is a scholarship awarded to a high school 10th-12th grader, college student, or non-traditional student U.S. citizen planning to attend 2-year, 4-year, or vocational/trade school in the U.S. Student must be committed to using education to better your life and that of your family and/or community.

College Now provides scholarship opportunities to adult students age 19 and above who have taken off one year or more after high school. Eligible adult learners are Pell-eligible and must be pursuing a first bachelor鈥檚 degree, an associate degree or a non-degree certificate or license in a vocational or technical program. Applicants must complete the application and meet the scholarship criteria for academic performance and financial need. Scholarships are renewable. Adults from Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Trumbull or Wayne County may apply for the College Now Adult Learner Scholarship.

This is awarded to low-income women, ages 35 and older, who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents pursuing an undergraduate education at an accredited college or university in the United States.

Applicants must be non-traditional women students who have overcome obstacles to resume their education. Applicants must be permanent residents of the following Ohio counties: Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Erie, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina or Trumbull.

The LouEllen Dabbs Scholarship is for a student who is a single parent and interested in pursuing a career in business, banking, or finance. To qualify, students must be enrolled in business administration or banking, be a single parent, be registered for a minimum of nine credits, and have at least a 2.35 GPA.

Established in 2003, the Patsy Takemoto Mink Education Foundation aims to carry on some of Mink's most ardent commitments: educational access, opportunity, and equity for low-income women, especially mothers; and educational enrichment for children. In 2020, the Foundation plans to award five (5) Education Support Awards of up to $5000 each to assist low-income women with children who are pursuing post-secondary education.

Paula Slimak Scholarship
This is available to any JMC major and is awarded in honor of those killed or wounded on May 4, 1970. Students must be a non-traditional student who knows the importance of juggling work and studies and who increasingly will understand the value of free speech. 

The Quell Foundation Fighter Scholarship is awarded to a select high school senior or a current undergraduate/graduate student that is being treated for a diagnosed mental health condition. The Quell Foundation Awareness Fund established the award as a means to improve the care and treatment of people with mental health illness.

Rosenfeld Injury Lawyers LLC believes in the empowerment of single mothers through education. Education has the power to open doors for single mothers and even their children. Having a degree or certification can enable a woman to expand her lifetime earning potential, increase her gross income, and provide her with better job opportunities. We want to expand opportunities for single mothers who are going back to school by offering two $1,000 scholarships (one awarded to a single mother in an undergraduate program or community college and one to a single mother enrolled in an accredited law school).

The American Council of the Blind has a great opportunity for students who are legally blind to earn a scholarship, whether you are going to a technical college, an entering freshman, undergraduate or a graduate student. Over $55,000 in scholarships are awarded to students each year. To be eligible, you need to be legally blind, maintain a 3.0 GPA, and be involved in your school/local community.

The students who are legally blind may apply for $500 to $2,500 financial aid. You must provide medical proof and two letters where your situation is described. 

The center is committed to assisting those with learning and attention issues. NCLD offers several scholarship options including the Everyday Champion Award, COVID-19 Impact Scholarship, Allegra Ford Thomas Scholarship, and the Anne Ford Scholarship. 

OAR offers a $3,000 amount. If you are a full-time student aiming for a particular certification and have an autism proof, you can use this opportunity to pay for college and study in a different way. 

Applicants must be legally blind and plan to attend a post-secondary educational program. Those eligible to apply must submit documentation that they are legally blind with doctor鈥檚 statement.

Requirements for Scholarship: must be a college student living with a physical ailment, physical disease, and/or physical disability. Must be enrolled as full/part time student and must not be on academic probation. This is awarded to a U.S. citizen enrolled at an accredited college or university within the United States who has a disability diagnosis with a minimum 3.0 GPA and has completed at least one semester of classes at an accredited college or university.

This $1,000 financial assistance is given to high-school seniors or first-year students with an ADHD. If you also have dyslexia and dysgraphia, or any other learning disability, your application chances are greater. You must write a short essay. The deadline is March 31, 2021.

Thanks to the vision and generosity of many donors, the Cleveland Foundation offers a variety of scholarships to eligible applicants with varied and diverse criteria. 

Cochlear offers several prestigious scholarships in honor of the amazing innovators who developed our hearing solutions. Scholarship applicants must be a Baha or Nucleus recipient. Scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors and undergraduate or graduate students that have applied or will be enrolled in an accredited college, university or technical school. Scholarship applicants must receive a 3.0 GPA or above to apply for the scholarship. Consideration is also given to the applicant's extracurricular activities and community involvement.

Students will be required to attend school on a full-time basis and maintain a 3.0 college GPA in order to maintain their scholarship. Must have medical documentation of Cystic Fibrosis.

Living with blindness or vision loss is a challenge. Not being able to pay for college should not be a part of that challenge. Lighthouse Guild supports higher education for all individuals and acknowledges the achievements of academically qualified high school and college students who are seeking to further their education. We offer scholarships for students with vision loss that help them make a successful transition to college and graduate education. We offer scholarships for: College education, to high school students who will be incoming freshmen; Graduate education (Master鈥檚 degree, PhD, MD, JD, or other post-baccalaureate degree), to students, already attending or planning to attend graduate school.

An award of $5,000 is given to high school students who plan to attend a vocational course at college. Apply if you major in Engineering, Computer Science, IT Management, or Data Science.

There are more than 30 merit-based, national scholarship opportunities available through the National Federation of the Blind. To be eligible, students must attend a postsecondary institution full time and attend the NFB national convention. All scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence, community service, and leadership.

In 2008, OAR introduced the Schwallie Family Scholarship to support the post-secondary, undergraduate education of qualified individuals with an autism spectrum diagnosis. The Malta Scholarship is for undergraduate studies, and the Paleologos Scholarship is awarded for graduate work of a non-theological nature.

The Marion Barr Stanfield Art Scholarship and Pauly D'Orlando Memorial Art Scholarship are for either graduate or undergraduate Unitarian Universalist students studying painting, drawing, photography, and/or sculpture.

This scholarship serves Unitarian Universalism, and individual Unitarian Universalists like Chuck and Nancy Thomas, by valuing a history of service and leadership as critical elements of a call toward professional theological training. Children of deceased parents

Qualified entrants who submit essays or videos about how the death of a parent impacted their lives are eligible for scholarship money. The Life Lessons Scholarship Program is open only to legal residents of 50 United States, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, who are between 17 and 24 years of age, have experienced the death of a parent or legal guardian, and are currently enrolled in, or have been accepted to, a college, university or trade school within the 50 United States, the District of Columbia or Puerto Rico.

The Foundation provides scholarships for loved ones of fallen or permanently disabled roadway workers until we can reduce the number of work zone deaths. It is our hope to eventually give out zero scholarships as a result of zero fatalities. The Roadway Worker Memorial Scholarship Program provides financial assistance for post-high school education to dependents (children and spouses) of roadway workers killed or permanently disabled in roadway work zones. The Silver Shield Foundation has been helping children of police officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty with the cost of their education. We set aside an education fund for each surviving child to assist with tuition payments for prep school, college and university undergraduate and graduate school, vocational and technical school, and tutoring services. The Vincent Bennett, Jr. Memorial scholarship is awarded annually to an incoming freshman who is the child of a law enforcement officer or firefighter who was killed or permanently disabled in the line of duty. A declared major is not required, but preference will be given to eligible candidates who are majoring in engineering.

Children of Incarcerated Parents

You must be 18 to apply. This scholarship is fo those impacted by crime; either as a child of an inmate or victimized by crime- either themselves or a member of their immediate family. Maintain a 2.5 GPA or provide documentation explaining circumstances if GPA is lower than 2.5.

ScholarCHIPS provides college scholarships, mentoring, and a peer support network to children of incarcerated parents, inspiring them to complete their college education.

CHILDREN OF INJURED OR ILL PARENTS/FAMILY MEMBERS

The applicant must be the child of an employee who has been declared to be permanently and totally disabled or who was fatally injured as a result of a work-related injury or occupational disease. Any aspiring undergrad with DACA or TPS status can apply for this award, but the scholarship committee prioritizes students in states that bar DACA students from receiving in-state tuition benefits. Scholarships are distributed on the basis of academic merit and leadership abilities. To maintain funding, scholarship recipients must earn a 3.0 GPA.

The Hispanic Engineer National Achievement Awards Corporation (HENAAC) distributes multiple scholarships each year; some require U.S. citizenship but many do not.
