The family of Astrid N. Sambolin Morales, Ph.D., an assistant professor at Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State, is dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Fiona in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico. They have been without electricity since the storm hit Sunday Sept. 18, 2022.

The Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University Board of Trustees welcomed the Class of 2026 at the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held Sept. 21 at the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University Airport. Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State’s freshman class began classes on the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Campus nearly 7% larger than the previous year with 4,251 students – the eighth largest incoming class in the university’s 112-year history.

The performance, titled  will have its opening night at 7 p.m. Oct. 24, in the 700-seat auditorium of the National Academy of Science in Washington, D.C.
