The Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University men’s basketball team (22-13) won the 2017 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championship, defeating the top-seeded Akron Zips (26-8) by a score of 70-65 at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.

Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University’s Recreational Services and Residence Services departments have collaborated to open a new fitness facility in the Tri-Towers Rotunda, exclusively for on-campus residents. The facility opened this spring semester.

Sixty-eight years ago, the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ City Council and mayor dubbed Ñý¼§Ö±²¥, Ohio, the state’s Tree City. This year marks the ninth year Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University is being recognized by the Arbor Day Foundation’s Tree Campus USA program.

Several new and renovated Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University buildings received Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) recognition in 2016, bringing to 11 the total number of certified buildings on Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State’s campuses. LEED is a rating system that comes from the U.S. Green Building Council.
There are four levels of certification: LEED certified, silver, gold and platinum. The projects most recently LEED certified include:

Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University scholar Melissa Zullo, Ph.D., is all heart, an academic who lives and breathes research, almost literally. Zullo, an associate professor of epidemiology in Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State’s College of Public Health, has spent a significant portion of her professional and academic career studying the best practices for helping cardiac and respiratory patients heal.

Jacob Barkley, Ph.D., is an associate professor of exercise science in Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State’s College of Education, Health and Human Services. During his 10 years with Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State, he has earned a name for himself as a scholar who wants to get people thinking about how they move, and moving better so they can think better.
