Visit the School of Music

At the Glauser School of Music there are eight main areas of study: composition and theory, conducting, ethnomusicology and world music, general music studies, jazz, music education, music technology and music performance. Within these areas of study, students have the opportunity to specialize in concentrations tailored for their unique interests and career path.

Discover Music Visit Day

The guided walking tour of the music wing of the Center for the Performing Arts will offer prospective students and their families an opportunity to see the our classrooms, practice rooms, small rehearsal spaces and Performing Arts Library as well as our creative spaces to collaborate, work and study. Students that have registered should meet in Roe Green Lobby in the Center for the Performing Arts (1325 Theatre Drive) a few minutes early. 

Tours take place from 4 - 5 p.m in the Center for the Performing Arts, D106

Our on-campus Discover Music Visit Days are free and open to all current high school and transfer students.

Marching Golden Flashes High School Band Day

Experience the pageantry of collegiate athletics and the game day atmosphere with the Marching Golden Flashes! We invite all high school marching bands to join the Marching Golden Flashes on the field as part of the halftime performance at the at the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State/University at Buffalo football game.

Saturday, Sep. 13, 2025


Cost: FREE

Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University Bands and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics invite you to High School Band Day 2025. This year, the event will be held at Dix Stadium on Saturday, September 13. We are pleased to offer a meal (pizza/water) and admission to the football game against Buffalo for all participating members of your marching band. Your students will have the opportunity to experience the pageantry of collegiate athletics and join the Marching Golden Flashes on the field as part of the halftime performance. Following the halftime performance, your band is free to stay for the second half of the game or depart as desired. 

Registration will close on August 8. Please give us your maximum anticipated attendees, including students, staff and chaperones. You may bring less than requested; however, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to add more than your original amount. An email confirmation and further information, including music, itinerary and how to secure discounted tickets for friends and family, will be sent no later than August 22. 

High School Band Day is a wonderful opportunity to visit the beautiful campus of Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University and collaborate with other band programs in our area. We appreciate your involvement and cooperation in making this event successful.

Flute, Double Reed and Clarinet Day

We are thrilled to welcome students to Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University for Flute, Double Reed and Clarinet Day!

Nov. 9, 2025 
8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

  • The event is open to all musicians practicing in flute, double reed or clarinet, regardless of age or ability level.
  • Music Educators are welcome to attend

  • Participation in final concert rehearsals and performance

First, navigate to the Flute, Double Reed and Clarinet registration page, using the button below. 

After you have filled out and submitted information for the Flute, Double Reed and Clarinet registration page, you must then pay your registration fee. In order to pay your registration fee, click on the "Pay Registration Fee" button below. From there, locate Clinics and Workshops and click "view category," then find KSU Woodwind Day and click on "view details." Saxophone Day

Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State Saxophone Day - Join us on Nov. 23, 2025!

We can't wait to welcome you to our beautiful campus for a day dedicated to the saxophone! Saxophonists of all ages and abilities are invited to attend this day-long event of clinics, workshops and performances. Participants will work with our faculty, hear performances and meet fellow saxophonists from around the country. 


Who Can Attend:

  • The event is open to all saxophonists, regardless of age or ability level.
  • Classical and Jazz saxophonists. 
  • Music Educators are welcome to attend.
