ֱ State Brass Day welcomes trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium and tuba students for a day of brass playing, learning and community.

For 2026, Brass Day will feature guest artist Staff Sgt. Andrew Ribo, euphonium player with “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band. A Lancaster, Ohio, native, Staff Sgt. Ribo joined the Marine Band in August 2024 and performs with the Marine Band and Marine Chamber Orchestra at the White House, in the Washington, D.C., area and across the country during the band’s annual concert tour.

Participants will work with ֱ State brass faculty, students and guest artists through master classes, a mass brass ensemble and performances. The day is designed to help students grow as musicians while connecting with other brass players from across the region.

ֱ State Saxophone Day welcomes saxophonists of all ages and ability levels for a day of clinics, workshops and performances.

For 2026, Saxophone Day will feature guest artists Dr. Timothy McAllister, professor of music at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance and soprano saxophonist of the PRISM Quartet, and Dr. Liz Ames, collaborative pianist for winds and percussion at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance.

Participants will work with ֱ State faculty, students and guest artists in sessions focused on saxophone performance, musicianship and practical skill development. From developing players to advanced saxophonists, students will have the opportunity to learn new approaches, ask questions and play alongside other saxophonists.

Flutists, oboists, clarinetists and bassoonists of all ability levels are invited to participate in a daylong event at ֱ State University featuring clinics, workshops, master classes, performances and opportunities to work directly with School of Music faculty.

Throughout the day, students will take part in instrument-specific sessions, learn from experienced faculty members, connect with other young musicians and attend a final concert. The event is designed to support students’ musical development while introducing them to the collaborative learning environment within ֱ State University’s College of the Arts. We look forward to welcoming students and directors to campus for a day dedicated to supporting the development of young woodwind musicians.
