Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University held its annual Veterans Day observance on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. on the Student Green at Risman Plaza.
The outdoor program, Honoring All Who Serve, included a flag-raising ceremony conducted by a joint color guard from the university’s Army and Air Force ROTC programs, remarks from Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State President Beverly Warren and guest speakers. Retired Petty Officer 1st Class Mark Gainer, who currently serves as president of the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State Veterans Club, was the guest speaker.
All were invited to come and pay tribute to America’s veterans. A special invitation was extended to Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State faculty, staff, students and community members who are veterans, active service members or who have family members in the military.
A reception in the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Student Center Kiva lobby followed the brief program.
The university will be closed Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day.
