Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State Celebrates 2015 Homecoming With Parade, Events and Football Game Win

This year's Homecoming was a fun-filled  that included the Bowman Cup 5K Race, Homecoming Parade and . This year’s homecoming featured Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State alumnus and Super Bowl champion as the Parade Grand Marshal.

Family and friends gathered before the football game at the new Tailgate Party at Dix Stadium. A great event for any Golden Flash, the gathering featured a food truck, face painting area, games and a chance to win prizes.

Other highlights of the day included open houses at the May 4 Visitors Center; new Center for the Visual Arts; the Student Recreation and Wellness Center; College of Education, Health and Human Services; College of Nursing; and tours of downtown aboard Lolly the Trolley, a Flash Photo Zone and a faculty lecture on the “Flapper Fashions of the 1920s.â€

Beginning fall 2027, Bio-Med Science Academy will relocate its grades K-6 programs to Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University’s Schwartz Center. The Schwartz Center, which opened in 1956 as the home of the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University School, a laboratory school that served generations of student teachers, will return to its original purpose as a school building.

Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University’s Board of Trustees approved a new partnership between the university and Bio-Med Science Academy STEM School that will bring new life to the underutilized Michael Schwartz Center building while providing the public STEM school with a state-of-the-art facility for its elementary grades. The Board’s vote of approval came during its regular quarterly meeting held Dec. 11. 

In the newly released rankings, Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State is once again the highest-ranked public institution in northern Ohio, and with its impressive national ranking of No. 129, the university continues to be recognized among the Top Public Schools in the nation.
