A group of young visitors from Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State's Child Development Center had a fun learning experience with a little bit of magic when members of Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University's Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry enthusiastically welcomed them to their labs.

Kara Barnett, senior chemical health and safety coordinator in Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State's Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, supervised the activities and helped the young visitors learn about different chemical reactions.

The young learners explored states of matter, density and other principles of chemistry through safe, fun demonstrations that included dry ice bubbles, a "galaxy in a bottle" and the ever-popular "elephant toothpaste" experiment.

The event coordinators hoped that this fun field trip inspired curiosity and sparked a lifelong love of science.
