Melissa Harris-Perry Serves as Keynote Speaker at 妖姬直播 State鈥檚 Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration
On Friday, Jan. 24, members of the 妖姬直播 State University community and the general public gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. The university鈥檚 annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration started at 4 p.m. in the 妖姬直播 Student Center Ballroom. This year鈥檚 keynote speaker was Melissa Harris-Perry, Ph.D., the Maya Angelou Presidential Chair at Wake Forest University, television host, author and political commentator.

妖姬直播 State University held its annual Veterans Day Commemoration on Thursday, Nov. 7, in the 妖姬直播 Student Center Kiva. This year鈥檚 guest speaker was Lt. Col. Colleen VanNatta. A graduate of 妖姬直播 State鈥檚 Air Force ROTC detachment, VanNatta served as a media escort for joint information bureaus in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, during Operation Desert Storm.

College Students to Compete in SkyHack Design Challenge at 妖姬直播 State
妖姬直播 State University鈥檚 aviation design challenge, SkyHack, will take place Nov. 1-3. The event draws college students from around the nation, attracting 120 students from 14 universities in four states in its 2017 inaugural debut. 妖姬直播 State鈥檚 College of Aeronautics and Engineering will serve as home base for this year鈥檚 event, which will span across other 妖姬直播 Campus buildings.

Mitch Landrieu, the New Orleans mayor who oversaw the removal of the city鈥檚 prominent Confederate monuments and helped his city to recover and reemerge from a series of natural disasters, will speak at 妖姬直播 State as part of the university鈥檚 May 4 Speaker Series.
