SLS is hiring an Attorney
Student Legal Services at Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University (SLS) seeks a full-time Attorney for its Ñý¼§Ö±²¥, Ohio location. SLS is a non-profit law office supporting student success by serving the legal needs of Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State students through legal advice, representation, education, and resources in civil and criminal matters.
The Attorney provides legal advice and representation for various matters including criminal misdemeanors, traffic offenses, landlord-tenant, consumer, contract disputes, contract review and drafting, debt collection/credit reporting, simple estate planning, and more.
Applicants must be licensed to practice law in Ohio. Courtroom experience is preferred. The ideal applicant is passionate about assisting in the education and retention of university students. SLS is Hiring Student Secretaries!
Secretaries are responsible for answering telephones; client intake; file preparation; maintaining the attorneys' calendars; light cleaning responsibilities; and assisting the attorneys and paralegal with preparation of documents and various other tasks. Students will rotate shifts with other secretaries, so the position offers some flexibility with hours. Preference will be given to students with prior secretarial experience and to those interested in pursuing a career in the legal field. This is an excellent opportunity to build your resume with professional office experience. This position requires great attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with others.
