Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University's School of Emerging Media and Technology is a cutting-edge new interdisciplinary school designed to train tomorrow's digital leaders.
The School is part of Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State's College of Communication and Information, the only college in the nation that combines the five distinct but interrelated fields of technology, media, communication, design and information.
Our Emerging Media and Technology major integrates elements of computer science, computer information systems, computer technology, library information science, visual communication design, journalism, communication studies, and instructional technology, it fosters a broad exposure to digital technologies as used by a wide range of professions and organizations.
Our User Experience Design major is a partnership with the School of Visual Communication Design and emphasizes UX/UI processes, user research, sketching, wireframing, prototyping, scenario building and front-end development. Students design user interfaces, interactive experiences, application and tool design, motion sequences, video, screen displays and interactive experiences that merge the digital and physical environments.
The School of Emerging Media and Technology draws faculty from colleges across the university to teach its courses, and its students have a unique opportunity to take selected classes from other programs as part of their major. The school offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and a Master of Science (M.S.) in Emerging Media and Technology and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in User Experience Design.
