Austen Shipley (he/him)
Assistant Director, Student Leadership Development
Hometown: Globe, Arizona
Austen is from a small town of Globe, Arizona, and relocated to Ohio in December 2023 to join the Division of Student Life, where he serves as the Assistant Director for Student Leadership Development in the Pepsi Leadership Center. Austen is a two-time graduate of Arizona State University, earning his Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Entrepreneurship in May 2016, and his Master of Education in Higher and Postsecondary Education in May 2018.
During his time at Arizona State University, Austen served as the Coordinator for Student Engagement, where he oversaw major student events and programs. He later transitioned to the W. P. Carey School of Business as an Academic Advisor and eventually became the Program Manager for the WPC 101 Student Success in Business course, designed for first-year business students at Arizona State University.
At Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University, Austen has had the opportunity to advise prominent student organizations. In his previous roles, Austen advised the Flash Activities Board (FAB), Undergraduate Student Government (USG), and currently serves as one of the advisors for the Student Leader Advisory Board (SLAM) and the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority. Austen currently oversees the operations of the Pepsi Leadership Center and serves as the advisor for the Flash Fellows leadership program.
In his free time, Austen enjoys singing, playing guitar, watching anime, and spending time with his wife, Tessie.
Rebecca Nugent (she/they)
Graduate Assistant, Leadership Development
Hometown: Oconomowoc, Wisconsin
Rebecca Nugent is a second-year Graduate Student in Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State's Higher Education Administration and Student Affairs M.Ed. program and serves as a Graduate Assistant with the Pepsi Leadership Center. Within this role, they get to create and lead various workshops and programs dedicated to leadership development and supervise the Student Leadership Coordinators, among other things. Prior to her current role in CSI, she served as a Graduate Assistant with the LGBTQ+ Center and received their BA in Communication Studies from Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University in 2024.
Trinity Chapman (she/her)
Student Leadership Coordinator (SLC)
Hometown: Canton, OH
Trinity is from Canton, Ohio, and continued her education at Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University after graduating from Early College High School in 2024. Having found a passion in both politics and writing while studying at Stark State College to pursue her associate's degree, she decided to major in journalism. Trinity spent her second undergraduate year heavily involved with student media. This commitment included her roles as a multimedia journalist and segment anchor on KSTV. After falling in love with the environment of the studio, she then took her talents behind the camera and worked the soundboard as an audio producer for the same network.
Aside from her love of school and writing, Trinity also enjoys the hit Broadway musical Hamilton, collecting vinyl records, Halloween, and spending time with friends and family.
Ana Clara Bellesia (she/her)
Student Leadership Coordinator (SLC)
Hometown: Sorocaba, Brazil
Ana Clara Bellesia was born in Sorocaba, Brazil, and moved to Ñý¼§Ö±²¥, Ohio, in January 2024 through the American Academy program in partnership with PUCPR. She is now a junior majoring in International Studies with a minor in International Business and is expected to graduate in December 2026.
At PUCPR, Ana Clara served as Public Relations Director and later as Vice President of the Student Academic Center, leading communication strategies and student engagement initiatives. At Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State, she has worked as a Student Program Assistant in the Office of Global Education, acting as a cultural and linguistic bridge for Brazilian education leaders. She now serves as a Student Leadership Coordinator at the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State Leadership Center, where she designs and facilitates workshops, retreats, and training on leadership, communication, and student development. In addition, Ana Clara is a Global Ambassador in the Office of Global Education, supporting international students in their transition to Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State and promoting intercultural exchange.
Passionate about children, Ana Clara also was actively involved in outreach projects benefiting underserved youth, designing mentorship programs to inspire academic engagement and promote access to higher education. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, baking, solving puzzles, listening to music, going out with friends, and watching movies based on true stories.
Sam Pothuri (she/her)
Student Leadership Coordinator (SLC)
Hometown: Ashburn, Virginia
Sam is an undergraduate student in Fashion Merchandising with minors in Marketing, Fashion Media, and Photography. She is an out-of-state student from Ashburn, Virginia. Sam is expected to graduate from Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University in May 2028 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
In addition to working in the Pepsi Leadership Center, Sam is a Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State Tour Guide, welcoming prospective students and their families on immersed tours of Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State! Sam is also on the executive board of the Fabric Pantry, a student-led organization here at Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State, as co-treasurer and will be the main treasurer during the Spring 2026 semester. She assists in organizing fashion shows, events where students can get free fabric and other sewing materials and manages the budget. She also participated in the Dress Up For Downs Fashion Show during the Spring 2025 semester, as a part of the marketing team and an escort for two models.
Sam is excited to bring her leadership and creativity to the Pepsi Leadership Center! She is ready to help students in their leadership journey and further contribute to the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State community!
