Student Veterans Remember Sept. 11th Attacks

The ��ֱ�� State Ashtabula Student Veterans Association is once again presenting the Field of Honor in memory of those who lost their lives during the September 11th attacks. The annual memorial began several years ago with 144 flags encircling the flag pole at the center of campus, but has now grown to nearly 3,000 flags, lining the walkways between Main Hall, the Library, Bookstore and Robert S. Morrison Hall.

For the second year in a row, a total of 2,977 flags have been placed - one for each victim of the attacks.

The Student Veterans Association and volunteers placed the flags on Sunday, September 4th. The flags will stay on display on the campus through September 11th. The community is invited and encouraged to come by and see the display.

On campuses spanning from Lake Erie to the Ohio River, these celebrations highlight the academic achievements and work readiness of its learners.

First BSW Cohort Graduates, Filling Critical Gaps for Underserved Communities

Just two years after its launch, ��ֱ�� State University’s Bachelor of Social Work program is seeing its first cohort of students graduate this semester. Nearly 20 students will walk across stages at the Ashtabula, Salem and Tuscarawas campuses this month, the latest milestone in this rapidly growing program.

Ashtabula Campus Hosts 80th Commencement

��ֱ�� State University at Ashtabula honored the spring graduating class at the campus’s 80^th commencement ceremony on Thursday, May 8, 2025, in the Susan J. Stocker Hall gymnasium.

“Commencement is a major milestone in the lives of our students,” said Dean and Chief Administrative Officer R. William (Bill) Ayres IV, Ph.D. “It’s such a special night to celebrate the accomplishments and achievements of these graduates here on campus and in the familiar and intimate environment the event deserves.”
