Fourth Annual Let's Take a Ride Walk Takes Place on the Esplanade September 22; E-Inside; September 22, 2014


Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University faculty, staff and studenta are invited to walk or ride to downtown via Lefton Esplanade during tne fourth annual "Let's Take a Ride Walk" event on Monday, Sept. 22. 
The event 1B free and open to Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Slate faculty. staff and 11udents. Participants are asked to register by Sept. 11 as the event will be lmited to the first 180 registrants. Riders are encouraged to either bring their own bicycle or borrow one from Flashfleet. Registered participants will meet at 11 :30 a.m. on the "K" in Risman Plaza and continuedown the Lefton Esplanade to the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Slate University Hotel and Conference Center. 
A free lunch wtll be served at the conference center, compliments of Miracle on Main Street (M.O.M.S. office, a source for office furriture. A gift bag filled wilh promotional items and coupons to downtown Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ reetaurants and boutiques will be provided to an registrants.

We started this event four years ago to create a link from the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ campus to the downtown area while the Lefton Esplanade was being created. We also encourage Ride/Walk as a healthier lifestyle alternative.
Marty Mundy, facilities planner for Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State and co-chairof the event committee, says the Community Outreach Subcommntee is an extension office Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State sustainability taskforce.
'Four yeani ago, we heldregularmeetings and brainstormed ideas along withcommunity partners like Main Street Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ to develop air mission statement, to share sustainability initiatives.
