Dear Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Campus Students,
Today, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine announced that Portage County remains at COVID-19 Risk Level 2 (Orange) Status for a second consecutive week. The Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Campus resides in Portage County, and as such, must adhere to the .
To mitigate potential spread of the virus, we must be diligent in adhering to our current Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Campus operating procedures which can be found on the COVID-19 Dashboard. Until further notice, all Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Campus dining locations will continue to serve takeout only. There will be no dine-in option at any Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Campus dining location.
In addition, visitors to Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Campus residence halls will continue to be limited to Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State students living on the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Campus. Only students living on the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Campus may enter the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Campus residence halls. These measures are aligned with the guidance of state and local health authorities, and we will continue to work in cooperation with these health experts to manage the virus in our community.
Further, the delivery mode of all in-person courses remains the same unless your instructor tells you differently.
We remain concerned about the number of positive cases related to Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State University and therefore are not changing current campus operations. It is imperative that everyone follow the Flashes Safe Seven on and off campus, wear a face covering at all times, avoid all gatherings and parties, and limit interactions other than attending class and participating in physical exercise.
Remember: Any Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ State community member who has been exposed to, diagnosed with or shows symptoms of COVID-19 must contact the COVID Response Team at 330-672-2525. Further, any travel out of state and beyond must be reported to the COVID Response Team prior to departure.
We urge you to sign up for Flash ALERTS to receive crisis communications through the emergency text system. The ever-changing nature of this pandemic means that we must remain flexible and adjust our plans as necessary to ensure the health and safety of our community. Let's work together to protect our Flashes family.
Sincerely,
Manfred van Dulmen, Ph.D.
